St Michael and All Angels serves a large and diverse parish. This includes the villages just north of High Wycombe: Hughenden Valley, Naphill and Walters Ash, North Dean, Bryants Bottom and Cryers Hill. We also take in a part of Great Kingshill and a small part of the town of High Wycombe itself.
St Michael and All Angels is of course associated with Hughenden Manor, the home of Benjamin Disraeli, who is buried at the Church. This historical association naturally attracts many visitors. However, we hope that when they come they will find a ‘house of prayer’ and a community filled with a living and vibrant faith. At the heart of what we do lies the worship of God our Father as we seek to live out our lives as followers of Jesus his Son. Our worship is as diverse as the parish we serve. On any Sunday we have a reflective early morning spoken service of Holy communion, two services (one in the evening) led by a formal robed choir that have a traditional feel and also a service led by a music group that has a much more contemporary edge. We seek to meet the spiritual needs of all who come of whatever age background and temperament and our vision, reflected in our mission statement is ‘to enable all to follow Jesus Christ’.
We hope that this website will be of interest to you and will help you discover a little about how we might serve you. There is no substitute however for coming along and experiencing the real thing! If you live in the Parish, St Michael’s is very much your church, though of course you don’t need to live in the parish to receive a very warm welcome. We would love to see you.
