St Michael and All Angels takes pride in having been awarded the family friendly welcome award in 2014. This is an initiative set up by the Oxford Diocese that provides churches with a tool for evaluating how effective they are at engaging with the children and young people, not only within the congregation but also within the wider community.
There are provisions made for children and young people at the 10:45 am service on a weekly basis.
Crèche - a crèche is available every Sunday at the 10:45 am service in the North Room for children from birth to 3 years old.
Monthly Family Services – these take part on the first Sunday of the month. Children and young people are actively involved taking on various responsibilities during the service, i.e. leading readings and prayers.
All Other Services – during term time those from pre-school to Year 9 are split into groups by school year. Children, whatever their age, have the opportunity to take part in various age appropriate, fun and interactive activities and most sessions are based around a reading or story from the bible.
Bubbles: Pre-School to reception age meet in North Room.
JC Club: School years 1-9 have different activities throughout the month.
On 2nd, 4th & 5th Sundays, the children split into two groups; school years 1-6 meeting in Church House and school years 7-9 meeting in Donkey Shed.
On 3rd Sundays we join together in our own JC Club Praise & Worship celebration; hearing from God’s word, praying creatively, and worshipping together
School Holidays – our regular groups take a break during school holidays but fun and exciting, one off activities are organised for the children by a wonderful group of volunteers who allow our regular leaders to have some time off.
Throughout the year we have a number of activities, events and trips taking place. For current details on what’s coming up please contact Bex Hawes.
St Michael and All Angels hosts the weekly ‘Hughenden Baby & Toddler Group’ from 9:30 - 11:30 am on Thursdays in term time including:
Tiny Tots Fun Worship: 2nd Thursday of every month at 10:30 am in Church; a short service of songs, prayers and an interactive retelling of a bible story.
